More Info
Semestene is one of the smallest towns in Logudoro, in the province of Sassari, in the northwestern part of Sardinia, famous especially for very ancient places of worship.
Semestene is a very small and quaint village of medieval origin of 160 inhabitants, known for its ancient parish church of San Giorgio and, even more, for the Romanesque church of San Nicola di Trullas, which stands two and a half kilometers from the town, in the open countryside, on the Campeda plateau. Where the shrine stands today, there was originally a Roman villa from the imperial age.
