More Info
Schio welcomes you with a landscape of green hills and an amphitheater composed of the peaks of the Little Dolomites, a rich industrial archaeological heritage, with unique buildings such as the Fabbrica Alta, the Conte Wool Mill, the Jacquard Garden, and the Weaver’s Monument that represent just a few of the riches of an industrial past that made Schio known as the “Manchester of Italy” for textile production of national and international significance.
Alongside these buildings of industrial archaeology along the streets and squares of the city are the many historic buildings, the “New Schio” working-class neighborhood, the Civic Theater, the Cathedral of St. Peter, the Church of St. Bakhita, and in the green area next to the historic center, the Church of St. Francis, a religious building of considerable value.
