More Info
A charming and elegant town with a medieval feel and a richly frescoed castle, San Vito al Tagliamento still retains its medieval moat and three access towers.
Noteworthy are the beautiful buildings with elegant architecture and religious monuments including the Cathedral, a veritable art gallery in terms of its wealth of canvases and frescoes; the Church of Santa Maria dei Battuti, a jewel of the Friulian Renaissance that preserves splendid frescoes by Pomponio Amalteo inside; and the Church of the Annunciata with a cycle of frescoes from the second half of the 14th century.
Finally, not to be missed is the delightful small Italian-style theater “Giangiacomo Arrigoni,” which is influenced by the Venetian 18th century.
