Saluzzo presents itself as a typically 14th-century hill town: with its small cobblestone streets, churches and elegant noble palaces. The territory of Saluzzo is included in the Monviso Transboundary Biosphere Reserve between Italy and France.

Saluzzo, a city of Music, has a vast Historic Center.

Of interest in the town center are the Cathedral, the Castiglia, home of the Historical Archives, with new multimedia displays of Prison Memory and Chivalric Civilization, Casa Cavassa and the Church of St. John.

Inside the ancient Monastery of the Annunziata, in the heart of the historic center, is the “School of High Musical Perfection” Foundation.

Villa Bricherasio is home to an immense Botanical Garden, open Tuesday through Sunday.

Just outside the town you can visit Staffarda Abbey and Manta Castle.

Finally, a visit to Silvio Pellico’s birth house, which has been granted museum status, is not to be missed.

Saluzzo has numerous trekking and MTB routes: these include theVéloviso routes, which unite Piedmont with the French Hautes Alpes; or “Saluzzese in bici”; while the “Passeggiata del Marchese” is ideal for fitwalking and hiking enthusiasts.

In the City of Music, the “Marchesato Opera Festival,” a week of concerts and thematic events involving various spaces in the historic center including the Museums, which also offer evening tours and special entertainment for the occasion.
