Walking down the avenue from the central Boccolino Square, one is plunged into the real old town: imposing stately mansions, an elegant theater, stores and sophisticated cafes. The bustle of people and businesses that enliven the city center is contrasted with the silence and quiet of an underground city that lives underground in Osimo. Don’t miss a visit to the Cantinone Caves and the Piazza Dante Caves, including tunnels, passages carved into the sandstone and enigmatic high reliefs.

Osimo is also an important destination on the roads of the sacred. First of all, the imposing Cathedral of St. Leopardo that towers in the old town with its Romanesque-Gothic style, with a crypt (12th cent.) and a Baptistery that is absolutely worth visiting. Instead, wandering through the narrow streets we come to the Church of St. Francis where St. Joseph of Cupertino, the city’s patron saint and protector of all students, lived. The saint’s remains are preserved here.
