More Info

Fénis is a surprising corner of the Aosta Valley that has much to offer besides its must-see castle.

The Castle is a must-see attraction for anyone: lovers of the Middle Ages, architecture enthusiasts and, of course, children, who will feel as if they are entering a fairy tale.
The MAV (Museum of Traditional Valdostan Craftsmanship) preserves, just a few meters from the Castle, the best of the wooden or stone works of the Aosta Valley tradition.

Close to the castle is a large area called “Tzanté de Bouva,” which, in addition to housing a picnic area in a sparse forest of oak, cherry, birch, and ash trees, houses a playground and sports area. From here a bike path branches off, a loop of more than 5 km on the flat. From this location you can take the route that leads to the Saint-Julien Shrine and Mont Corquet.

In September, “Il Castello in Fiera” is held, an event where there are many small craft and production businesses in the area accompanied by music, entertainment and good food.

In October, on the other hand, one of the oldest chestnut festivals takes place: the “Cataigne d’or,” with dancing evenings, chestnut and cake tastings and election of Miss and Mister Hedgehog.
