The Ricetto of Candelo is a medieval jewel, where it is possible to discover much about the Candelo area, from its history to its morphology, which has changed a great deal over the decades, as evidenced by the documents in the Ecomuseum of Viticulture, located in one of the village’s cellars.

Since ancient times, Candelo has always been ideally divided into two, two parts of a town separated between the Parish of St. Lawrence (south) and St. Peter (north). Neighborhoods thus developed around these two large churches.

A town surrounded by greenery, Candelo offers well-equipped spaces for sports (Citadel of Sports) and recreation. Notable among them is the Golden Tree Park, a playground that is also accessible to the handicapped.

Descending along the walls we come to the Alpini Walk, an old path that was abandoned and that the Candelese alpini have restored, an excellent nature trail that passes under the walls of the ricetto.

The greatest naturalistic attraction you can find in Candelo is undoubtedly the Baraggia. The road leading to Mottalciata is in itself striking for its scenery, but as you enter the forest and climb the slope, you meander through a rather unique plateau. It is the Barraggia Oriented Nature Reserve.

At the Ricetto di Candelo , every two years, the event ” Candelo in Fiore” is held, for the occasion, the Ricetto di Candelo is filled with multicolored flowers to decorate all the alleys and buildings.
